Nepal
Babu Chiri Sherpa, was born in Taksindu a small sherpa village near Salleri, Nepal. He began his career as a climber at age of 16, when he procured a job as a Trekking Porter.
Babu Chiri reached the summit of Everest ten times. It was during this time, he began showing his true abilities as a High Altitude Mountaineer.
In 2001 Babu Chiri signed on for his elevent Everest Expedition. On April 29 near Camp II (6500 m), Chiri miscalculated his steps, fell into a crevasse, and died.
